After almost two years on the market, our GQ Patrol Roof Rack Rail Sides have established themselves as one of Australia's toughest and most versatile slimline mounting systems.
Proudly 100% Australian made, each set is manufactured from 304 stainless steel and finished in our signature satin black powder coat for a premium finish.
Originally designed for direct rooftop tent mounting, these rails allow you to bolt your tent directly to the vehicle for the ultimate low-profile setup. Sitting approximately 25mm above the roof (as low as 10mm when paired with our RHS Crossbars) they keep your setup tucked neatly to the vehicle while allowing you to expand with crossbars, a rear wing and other accessories over time.
Our modular design lets you start with just the side rails and build your setup over time. When you're ready, add one of our optional Rear Wings for a seamless, finished look. We've even gone the extra step of powder coating the supplied mounting hardware for a premium finish right down to the smallest details.
Mounting Options
We’ve designed these rails to suit a wide range of mounting setups — from simple direct mounts to full rack conversions.
- Low Profile Light Duty Cross Bars – The perfect all-rounder: strong, simple, practical and lightweight. Best when using alongside a rooftop tent. 10-15mm of roof clearance.
- RHS Heavy-Duty Low-Profile Cross Bars – Designed to sit between the rails, offering a low stance with 8–10 mm clearance at the roof’s highest point.
- High-Profile Heavy-Duty Aluminum Extrusion Bars – 80×25 mm T-slot bars that mount on top of the rails for a modular system, perfect for those that want to really load up there roof.
- Platform Racks – Mount existing racks (like the OCAM flat racks) directly to the rails. Some drilling may be required for other roof racks.

Direct Tent Mounting – For the lowest-profile setup, mount your rooftop tent directly to the rails (tent base modifications may be required).
Passenger-side rails come pre-drilled with three awning mounting points, each fitted with flush-mounted rivnuts for quick and easy installation of our optional awning brackets — no drilling, no guesswork.
Important note: Cross bars and rear wings are sold separately, they do not come with the rail sides
Built to Last
Each set of rails is built from 3mm stainless steel then powder coated satin black, a combination that delivers exceptional strength and long-term corrosion protection.
Ensuring a durable finish that stands up to the harshest Aussie conditions.
We don’t currently offer colour coding but can supply raw stainless steel rails at a reduced price for those chasing a custom finish.

Fitting Information
- Internal rail width: 1130 mm (front) / 1120 mm (rear)
- Rails pre-drilled to suit OCAM platform racks (other platforms can also be fitted)
- Most rooftop tents can be bolted directly through the base or frame
- 1.2X tents by CSS can often be mounted directly with no modifications to the tent (Just the bolts)
- Supplied bolts: 20 mm long (ideal for racks and thin tent bases) – longer bolts and larger washers may be needed for thicker bases
